2 Freestyle areas dedicated to snowboarders and skiers
Alpe d’Huez welcomed in January, 2010 and 2011 the world cup for Skicross ( SkiX): As a result it become famous in the world of freestyle and more particularly Skicross by restructuring its “nouvelles glisses” area and by equipping it with 20 snow guns.
Since then it has the most extensive snowpark in the Alps (21h) situated at the bottom of the slopes, very close to the village.
The advanced area is situated between the Lac Blanc lift and the DMC, at the bottom of the slopes. Inside, for the snowboarder experimented:
- 4 big air
- Several bars for sliding
- 1 rail en wave
- 1 c-box
- 1 hip
- 1 rail en entrée street
- 2 totem
- 1 boardercross
- 1 half pipe (depending on snow conditions)
This area is situated along the piste of the 1st section of the DMC.
It begins with a series of box and rail-box, a ridge and then goes on with some small bumps before arriving at the bottom of the slope in woops.
At the departure, the bumps do not exceed 80 cms then evolve towards an intermediate level with 4 – 5 m.
On the left going down, mini cross with bends was drawn as well as the sledging track.
Situated on the sector of Montfrais, the human-sized snowpark is built every winter. To discover safely the new glides and the first sensations of jumps, several tables of average level, some bends and bars to slide.
