This equestrian endurance contest is a course of 2 loops of 35 kilometres at an average altitude of 1800 metres.
La Marmotte cycling race – 29th Edition

La Marmotte is one of the oldest sport-cycling events, and is also one of the most difficult. With 16,400ft difference in height, 110 miles over fabulous passes, the Croix de Fer, the Telegraph, the Galibier, and the Lautaret and then the 21 bends of Alpe d’Huez just before the finishing line.
Each year more than 7000 participants from all over Europe join to attend this trial.

Two tracks will be featured beside the classic route of 174 km :
– The Mi-Marmotte : cyclosport avent (half-stage of the Marmotte)
Saturday 3th July 2010 : Valloire – Alpe d’Huez : 76 km, 2500m vertical drop.
– The Marmottes ride : cycle ride on the Marmotte route (2 days)
Friday 2nd July 2010 : stage: Bourg d’Oisans – Valloire : 98 km, 2500m vertical drop.
Saturday 3th July 2010:stage Valloire-Alpe d’huez 76 Km , 2500m vertical drop.
Ascent of the Alpe d’Huez

This 13km cycling event climbs the famous 21 hairpin turns to Alpe d’Huez and will award the « Trophy of Oisans » to the first to cross the finish line.
Week of Mégavalanche – 16th Edition

Participate in the Megavalanche of Alpe d’Huez, means entering the Mountain Bike Legend at the top. Absolute reference, world’s greatest downhill marathon race is all superlatives : 1400 participants, 20 nations represented, 4 days training and race, more than 4000 meters downhill race, one week of events, an assistance village
Fitness convention – 7th Edition

Organised in the Sport and Convention Centre during a long weekend, supervised by 6 international well-known trainers.The very dynamic program will include step, hi low, hip hop, latino, stretching… It will start on Friday with the highest fitness course on the top of Pic Blanc, at 10,922 ft altitude.

This event will take place on the Eclose track of 4,920 ft, with one-third soil and with relief favourable to spectacular jumps, featuring the best of this discipline

Saint Anne’s feast day

Patron saint of the joiners, the carpenters, the lacemakers and the linen maids, Anne is also the patron saint of Huez. Two days punctuated with many events: parade with genuine costumes, fireman parade, garage sale, mass in honour of Saint Anne, trout fishing, country meal and popular dance.

– Kids triathlon in Alpe d’Huez on Tuesday July 27th
– Long distance triathlon (swimming : 2,2 km, cycling : 115 km, running : 21 km) from Vaujany to Alpe d’Huez on Wednesday July 28th.
– Short distance triathlon (swimming : 1,2 km, cycling : 30 km, running : 7 km) from Vaujany to Alpe d’Huez on Thursday July 29th.

Air Festival – 6th edition

This great event organised by the Dauphiné Flying Club, together with Alpe d’Huez, in order to offer a demonstration of mountain flying with old and recent planes, to open the doors of the Altiport and to propose animations: first flights (plane and microlight flight), flight demonstrations, flight simulators…

Alpe 21

This timed ascent of the 21 hairpin turns leading to Alpe d’Huez will unite more than 500 runners and walkers. A 2.1 km race will also take place for children along the « Avenue des Jeux » , in the heart of the station.
Medieval festival

On the Eclose mound, a medieaval village is built, with many events: money striking and forge, ore crushing, blazons, spinning, weaving, mediaeval games, plants, cooking, dancing music, juggling, tightrope walkers, fights… Special camp for kids with mediaeval games.
Guided tours of the archaeological site and open day in the museum.
