The list of ‘Must do’s’…

  • The Mega ‘must do’ The Megaavalanche (n°4) for its 32kms of descent and endurance… Departure from the Sarenne glacier at 3300 metres in altitude, wheels touching snow, and your arrival 2600 metres later in the valley, travel through different types of landscapes on the way; snowy, rocky, forest floor and green pastures. The best get down in less than one hour.
  • The Chamois downhill slope (n°2) completely re- traced at the top section by mechanical digger last summer, you’ll really enjoy the new twists and turns. A bit before the end of the run there’s a spectacular zone north shore ride through rocks and pastures.
  • The Poutran downhill (n°3) where the French downhill champions ride, an amazing play terrain. The start of this run delights with its vertical incline, for those who enjoy being on the brakes. Managing your technique between stone slabs and variants will satisfy your appetite.
  • Le Tour du Signal (n°27): A cross-country itinerary, behold its beautiful 360° panoramic view! Covering a distance of 17 Kms for 500M height level, for a good level rider, it’s a ‘must see’ for its scenery. Starting with the view of the Alpe d’Huez resort, then La Muzelle, L’Aiguille du Plat de la Selle, Le Grand Rochail, le Grand Renaud, Le Taillefer, Belledonne and finishing with the Grandes Rousses mountain range.
  • Le Chemin de la Foret de Sardonne (n°7) Alternate between forests with high cornered berms and pastured landscapes, to cruise through; taking time to see the view over the valley! But still for the hardened rider.

New

What’s NEW on my bike space ?

The Ski Anim’alp teams (managers of the Alpe d’Huez biking domain) along with the S.A.T.A. ski rescue/security patrol watch over with particular interest to blend the man-made tracks and itinerary’s within the surrounding environment and work hard to keep a co habitation and harmony between Sheppard’s pastures, cyclists and walkers.
